Information collected
SlangCheck may record search phrases, form submissions, basic technical information and analytics needed to operate, secure and improve the service. Search phrases can be used to identify missing dictionary entries.
Forms
When you submit a word or contact message, the information you provide is stored so it can be reviewed. Email is optional on word submissions and is not displayed publicly.
Google advertising and consent
SlangCheck uses Google AdSense and Google’s certified consent-management platform. Visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland may be asked to consent, decline or manage advertising choices. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies according to the visitor’s selection and applicable law.
Managing advertising choices
Where Google’s consent message is displayed, use its Manage options control to review or change available choices. Browser settings can also be used to remove or restrict cookies, although doing so may affect website features.
Advertising independence
Advertising is separate from dictionary content. Advertisers do not select definitions, editorial labels or research conclusions.
Data retention and requests
Information is kept only as long as reasonably required for site operation, moderation, legal compliance and security. Privacy enquiries can be sent through the contact page.
Changes
This policy may be updated as SlangCheck adds features, analytics or advertising services.
